How it works here

The process is the same as it is for Instagram, and you see everything before you decide.

  1. Enter your page username

Type the public username from your page's address — the part after facebook.com/.

  2. Review the options

The next page lists what's currently available for your page, with details.

  3. Continue if it fits

Choose an option only if it suits you — nothing happens until you decide.

Two things you can look at

Page followers work at the level of the page; reactions work post by post. Both start from the same username.

Facebook page followers

Followers are the people whose feed your page can reach, and the count sits at the top of the page where every visitor sees it. Enter your username to see the follower options currently available for your page.

Facebook post reactions

Reactions — like, love, care, and the rest — are the quickest signal of how a post landed. The options page shows what's available for your posts, and you pick the posts it applies to after continuing.

What makes a page worth following

Whatever options you choose, these fundamentals decide whether people who land on your page stay.

The page explains itself at a glance

A visitor should understand what the page is about from the name, the category, the About section, and the few most recent posts. Pages that are hard to categorize are easy to scroll past.

Posts invite a response

Reactions follow attention. A post that states an opinion, tells a short story, or asks something specific gives people a reason to react — where a link dropped without context usually doesn't.

The page posts on a rhythm people can expect

Feeds favour pages that show up consistently, and followers stay for the same reason. A schedule you can actually keep does more than an occasional burst of posts.

Much of this carries over from one platform to the other — how a profile introduces itself, how a caption earns a response, how often to post. Our guides are written for Instagram, but the thinking behind them applies to a Facebook Page too. If you run both, the Instagram followers and post likes pages work exactly the same way.

Facebook questions

Just your public Facebook Page username — the part that comes after facebook.com/ in your page's address. You never need to share your password, and we don't ask for access to your account.

Open your page and look at the address bar: in facebook.com/yourpage, “yourpage” is the username. It's also shown under your page name in Page settings. If your page only has a numeric address, set a username in settings first.

After you enter your username, the next page shows what's currently available — both the follower options for your page and the reaction options for your posts. You can review the details there before choosing anything.

Options relate to your public page, so a published, publicly visible page is the normal setup. A page that's unpublished or restricted by region or age can't be seen by most people, which limits what's possible.

Facebook separates the two: following a page is what puts its posts in someone's feed, while a like is a lighter signal of support. Followers are the number that reflects your actual reach, which is why pages track it more closely than likes.
